Banks love students!

Yesterday, several of the banks in the area set up tents at my college and had games and drawings for prizes. You didn't even have to sign up for an account! The only requirement to win any prize was that you had to be a student. I ended up with a free t-shirt and a compact mirror. If you're a student, ask a local bank about a student account and I bet you'll get free stuff too!

Give campus tours, get free stuff.

Today, I started my job as a Y Group leader, which is what my school calls the people who are the manpower behind new student orientation. My job essentially consists of giving campus tours to freshmen. By signing up for this, I secured free lunch for myself for the rest of the week, as well as two free tshirts. If you can handle working with people, this is definitely something I recommend!

Are you a student?

If so you should check out the deal Costco is offering to new student members. It's $50 to sign-up but you can split it with your roomie so that you both only pay $25. Then they are offering a bunch of coupons including free batteries and such that totals to about $65. Nice, right? But then they also give you a $10 cash card. Seriously! It's not like most things at Costco aren't a deal anyway but with the coupons and cash card they are practically paying you to become a member! W00t!!! I stocked up on things like the standard toilet paper and loads of canned goods and feel secure for the year now. Besides, the parental paid for it all. LOL!

My Quest for FREE stuff

For an English project in my latest class we were encouraged to manipulate companies using rhetoric. Get as many freebies as you can. That was the prof's motto. So did I? You betcha!!! I talked about just how poor I am as a student and told them how much I loved their products. I ended up with a load of stuff for just the price of the stamps. What did I get? Free pens, Michael Jackson poster, a DVD of every Pepsi ad ever made, 32oz of soy milk, $10 of organic pasta, stickers, and free shaving cream. YAY!!! Major score! So how do you get these freebies too? Just write to any major company. Flatter them and play upon your love for their fabulous company. Don't be ashamed to let them know how poor you are. It works!!
